Due to unexpected circumstances and the spread of the Coronavirus, commonly known as COVID-19, KAA decided very early on to close the building to all students and staff to ensure the protection and safety of our students, families, and staff. In fact, our school was one of the first schools in the region that closed its campus grounds and immediately offered online learning to all students with only one day of interruption to train teachers on available technology. After a full day of professional development and focused on-site training on the school’s existing Learning Management System and additional instructional technology tools, our teachers were able to immediately resume teaching. Through continuing with distance education, we were able to provide our students and their families some consistency and stability during these uncertain times, all while continuing their education and growth. We are proud of the work that we have done at KAA.
KAA’s administration will continue to monitor the situation very closely and follow guidance from the Governor of Virginia as well as the Virginia Council of Private Schools. We are also working on various plans for opening KAA for the next academic year 2020-2021
